Our week at Pre-School

Posted on March 6, 2020 by LPS1

This week we have been exploring the mud kitchen and adding ingredients such as oats, rice, soil and more into there. The children have loved this and have been making lots of oaty cakes and pretending to make curry and rice. They have also been making mud cakes with the soil.

On Tuesday it was Woody’s birthday (The Pre-School rabbit). We celebrated his birthday by creating a birthday cake out of playdough for him and sticking a treat of a carrot on top of the cake. We all sang happy birthday to Woody and then he ate his carrot.

We have been improving our fine motor skills with practicing our writing. We have had many children come in wanting to make birthday cards for special people, so they have written in the cards for their special person as well as create them a card.

We did our second playgroup this week which has proved a big success! It is lovely to have so many parents from the Pre-School and the outside community coming and joining in with their children. Thank you for your support. If you are interested in coming, please ring 07930 963638 to book a space for next Wednesday. This group runs from 9:15am – 10:15am in the Langham Community Centre.

World book day was on Thursday and some children came in dressing up clothes. All the children looked excellent (thank you to parents/ carers) and we also had Colchester Gazette in to take pictures so please look out in the next couple of days for the photo in the paper! We also read many stories on World book day which the children thoroughly enjoyed. The each took turns to choose a book they wanted an adult to read.

We hope you all have a great weekend and look forward to seeing you next week! 😊
