This week we have had a new interactive whiteboard fitted in pre-school! The children have been very keen to explore what we can do on it. They have liked drawing their own pictures on the big canvas. We have also explored the number games on the board which has been enjoyed by all children. The adults put up a slideshow of what we have done this week and the children were extremely excited to point themselves out on the screen.
We have been playing with sand this week and watched how it changes when water has been added and what happens when the sun dries all the water up. One child decided to write letters in the sand when it was dry. We have then extended this by using the light up boards so that the children can hold the pen to draw or write their own picture or words.
We have started PE this week for the children that will be going to school this year. They all did really well at practising getting undressed and dressed by themselves. We aim to practise this every week, so they become more independent for going to school. In PE we practised our kicking, throwing, catching, running and an assault course. The children all had so much fun!
We are now onto our second week of the stay and play which has been a big success and is lovely to meet new families in the local area.
